Step 3: Get to Work!
I am well on the way toward getting my Home Management Binder set-up. Since yesterday, I have made several lists, done some more research, read all of the related blog posts on the fantastic site "The Nest Effect" and have gotten a better understanding of what our own Home Management Binder should include.
For the Original Home Management Binder, please check out "The Nest Effect: Home Management Binder" There are 5 wonderful step-by-step blogs that include everything you need to know about setting up your binder. I am outlining the categories those categories from the original and 2 that I came up with, and what I feel will be helpful to include under each. This is a rough-draft outline and I encourage you to read the original posts for more detailed information.
Now, before I get started with sharing my thoughts on the subject, I want to be very clear:
This idea and most of the components come entirely from Tiffany of "The Nest Effect" blog. For more about Tiffany, please go to her website and visit her etsy shop for downloadable pages for your own Home Management Binder, and more!
So, most people who know me know that I love lists.
I love lists and outlines, categories, subcategories with neat headings, and so on.
I felt the best way to start a major project was to outline everything it would need to include. Below is the outline I have created for our Home Management & Organization Binder. (If you have questions about anything you see below, it can probably be answered by reading The Nest Effect blog mentioned above.)
I have decided to make my binder a hybrid print/technology binder. I am designing all of the pages for the notebook, after I include all the information, I may choose to keep most of the information in digital form instead of printing it out. Honestly, I tend to lose things much more easily in the real world, and that combined with the cost of ink means that keeping our HMB on the computer is probably best all around.
Now, there is a lot of information to be combined into the HMB, and I have already written more than I planned today, so I will just share the Sections List.
So, without further ado, here is The Roper/Smith Home Management & Organization Binder Outline:
