Instead of having 8-10 people over for hotdogs and games, we had a lovely "apartment family" dinner.
Let me introduce our apartment family:
* Richard (my husband, a wonderful man who provides insight and logic)
* RaShawn (our wonderful roommate and friend who is always so wise in her spiritual insights)
* Mark (doesn't live with us, is a good friend, very logical, over often, and keeps his food in our fridge)
* ...and me. (I am Courtney... I love all the people mentioned above, and I cook food for them.)
Anyway, after waiting for people to show up who never came, we cooked, we ate, and we discussed something that many Christians struggle with: God's use of visions and dreams, premonitions, and the workings of the Holy Spirit. It was a good start to a study that I hope will take us all into a deeper understanding of God's power and His love.
After dinner, we all sat in the living room and continued our discussion, contemplating God's scriptures and seeking understanding from the text. As I grew tired, we started to wrap things up and decided to each study the Spirit on our own and reconvene next week for more discussion.
I leave you with the questions we are trying to answer:
What role does the Holy Spirit play in our modern lives?
Does God still work through dreams, premonitions, and visions?
What spiritual gifts does God provide? Holy Spirit?
How can we use the gifts God/the Spirit provides? and more....
Thoughts? Comments? Let me know!
I will share more about what we discussed and what we uncover, soon.
If you would care to join us (either inperson or via video chat) let me know!
Blessings and Peace until next post...
