Working from my car last week, I was able to: discuss business with a friend, update my website, Facebook, & include photos of my latest crochet hat.
I still marvel at technology. I'm still amazed at the advancements that I dreamt of back in 2000, but never expected so quickly. I'm grateful, humbled, & amazed!
All the same, as I write this blog about my experiences, from my phone while lying sick in bed, I wonder about the self-centred nature of our humanity. Before people wrote about their lives & published it in books or kept it to themselves. Now, our egocentric tendencies are reinforced by the writings & rantings of the other egocentric aspiring reality celebrities, made famous in their own eyes through Web traffic & social media stalker numbers. Their writings (mine included) of no truth nor literary merit. Their validity not questioned, serve no totalitarian benefit other than the documentation of the individual human existence, experience.
I am not advocating internet restriction, nor censorship in any form. I am just musing that, with the wonderful technological advances we've experienced, we have to work harder at John Locke's Market Place model. The truth will still rise to the top, but the market's size has increased exponential. We have to look harder to verify the truth, because the market now includes the consciousness of anyone willing to scrawl it down. No, type it.
