The End and the Beginning

I haven't posted in a while. This time, I have good reason!

Over the holidays this year, my family went through a very difficult time.
We lost a very dear loved one, my great aunt, Linda McNeil. She had a risky heart surgery and in the end, it was just too much for her frail body to handle. She is missed daily and the hole in our lives will never be filled.

Life & business hasn't let up either:

  • Just before the holidays, I decided that I would offer a Saturday Crochet Seminar in the New Year.  It seems that there is a lot of interest, and I have consistently had new students! I am writing lesson plans, creating new patterns, and more! I have taught every Saturday of 2013! Interested in joining a class? Get more information here: The Dapple Apple on Facebook!
  • To help with the crochet classes, the webdesign, and the new business, my wonderful husband bought me my very own laptop! It it lovely, fast, and best of all, it is portable! I love it so much that I named it: Zolynda.
  • Just when I was begining to think that the postal service had lost my box with all of my super nice crochet items, they finally arrived in Florida! My amazing friend and her super cousin did an AWESOME photoshoot with them and the pictures are... phenominal!  Check out their work on my website and follow the links on the home page to their websites: TheDappleApple.com
  • On January 3rd, I stared a new job with my the research laboratory where my husband works. I was initially hired to process the agricultural samples for sensory analysis, but I have ended up doing a lot more around the lab. Check out the website I cobbled together here: BRL Analytical Services
  • Since August, I have been picking up my cousin's kids from school on Mondays. Since my aunt (their grandma) went into the hospital on December 22, I have been spending a lot more time with them. Their regular after school babysitter has become very busy with her college work, so I have been picking them up from school most days lately. It is a HUGE blessing to get to be a part of their lives and get to know such awesome little people. (12 yrs & 6 yrs)
  • My very dearest friend found out that she is going to have a baby! This news was followed by a request for me to be know to the baby as its auntie! (To which I of course said yes, and cried.) So, I am taking this very seriously and making the baby my first crochet afghan project. (Which I will write an entire post about soon!)
  • Another dear friend has just published her first novel! H.J. Swinford is a literary genius and I have read the first 15 chapters of the book and can't wait until Saturday when I get my very own signed copy! Want to read an instant classic young adult fantasy novel?! Get it HERE: ---> The Acaethian Chronicles, Book I: The One Who Lives
Well, I think that is enough to share for now.  I hope that you're all doing splendidly and that your holidays were jollier than mine.
Peace and Blessings until I write again!
