It has been a very long time since I made the soup, and since we have been out of town for 10 days, I am planning to make it for her as soon as we get home.

Tomatoes Soup Recipe
-Tools-
- Stove-Top
- Large Stock Pot
- Knife or Slicer
- Can Opener
- Stirring Implement
- Measuring Cup
- [Optional] Spatula
-Ingredients-
- 1 Large Can of Petite Diced Tomatoes
- 2-3 Large Cans of Crushed or Pureed Tomatoes
- 1 Medium Yellow or White Onion (sliced or chopped very thin)
- 1 Stick of Butter
- 3 Cloves of Garlic or Equivalent of Garlic Powder
- 3 Cups of Chicken or Vegetable Broth (fresh, bought or from bullion)
- [Optional] 2 Tbs ground Rosemary and 1/2 tsp of ground Cumin
- [Optional] Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
-Directions-
- Turn the burner on to Med-Low heat.
- Add the stick of butter.
- Once melted, add the onion and let cook until well done.
- If you are using fresh garlic, it should be added now. If you are using powdered Garlic, do not add it until step 6.
- Once Onions are are cooked completely, slowly mix in the broth.
- Stir in seasonings and mix well for 1 minute.
- Slowly mix in Diced tomatoes. Mix well and bring to simmer. Mix again and let simmer for 10 minutes.
- Slowly stir in crushed tomatoes. Mix well.
- Bring to simmer and let simmer on very low for 2 hours. Stir often.
- Serve hot with sandwiches or alone.
-Serving Suggestions-
This tomato soup also tastes great with garnishes of Sour Cream, Cheese, Bacon, Celery, or many other options.
