Festivities, Fasting, & Faith

This is a full week for us.  Between Plumbers finally fixing the back bathroom, Monday Game Night, planning for our impending move, figuring out how to live on less than half our income we had last year, Richard's 30th birthday dinner, the beginning of Lent, crochet & woodworking class, cleaning the house for a walk through with the property manager and new potential tenants this coming Monday, planning for a yard sale next weekend, getting ready to sell all of our things on Craigslist, an AIM reunion this weekend, more cancelled interviews and no other job prospects, the knowledge that my favorite coffee shop is on the verge of closing, and battling a cold... I am finding the challenge of remaining positive more overwhelming than expected...

Festivities

Richard Turned 30:
This week held a big birthday for Richard... My dearest love and life partner is now 30. I think he had a good day: favorite foods, friends, and discussion of chain-mail projects to come. Hopefully we have set a positive tone for the year to come!

The Adventures in Missions 40 Anniversary Reunion
This weekend also holds the AIM reunion at Sunset. I have major apprehensions about attending. I just always feel... like I don't belong. It will be nice to see my teammate who is coming to town for it, and I am praying for a positive experience.

Crochet Class and Wood-Turning Class
Thursdays have been busy for about 5 weeks now, as Richard is taking a wood working class and I am teaching a crochet series at the Garden & Arts Center. Now that my class is over, I plan to focus more on crochet and building connections with people there.

Fasting .... & Faith

I have decided to fast from things that are bad for me.  Negativity, unhealthy eating, bad habits...
With Lent upon us, and while I am participating, I don't want to dwell on my fast, but on the benefits of it, the purpose, and the growth that comes from it. I hope to write at least once a week about the positive aspects, lessons, etc.

Already, the choice to participate is building my faith, by researching these blog posts, by questioning my faith, I find ways it can grow. More on that coming soon...
